Ac Milan today have parted company with Massimiliano Allegri, he was already due to leave at the end of the season. It brings an end to his 3 and a half years in charge of Milan, all which started off great for him in winning the Serie A title in 2011. This year has been a totally different story with Milan languishing down in a 11th place after there 4-3 loss to Serie A minions Sassuolo, which led to Milan reliving Allegri of his duties early then expected.
Milan now lie 20 points off the top and only 6 points above the relegation zone, with only 5 wins all season in the league. The new manager will have his work cut out for himself if he is to bring them back to where they use to be, challenge for Serie A titles and Champions League.
One thing for sure is it is going to be a very hard and maybe very painful second half of the season for the Rossoneri, who have to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16, who are flying high in La Liga, jointed top with Barcelona.
So Mauro Tassotti who is now the caretaker boss, will have a lot of work to do, to try and salvage something from this season, if he is left in charge for rest of season. One name been linked to take over on a permanent basis is 37 year old Clarence Seedorf, who spent 10 years at Milan before joining Brazilian outfit Botafogo, where he is still on the playing staff.
